Shoreside and crew training via strategic partnership

Maryam Shipmanagement has announced a strategic partnership with TalentLMS, a leading provider of learning management solutions, to deliver advanced computer-based training for its seafarers and shore-based staff. The collaboration aims to enhance the company’s training programs by leveraging TalentLMS’s state-of-the-art, interactive platform, which is designed to provide a flexible, intuitive, and scalable learning experience both ashore and onboard vessels.

TalentLMS stands out in the e-learning sector for its highly customisable and user-friendly interface. The platform allows Maryam Shipmanagement to tailor courses to meet specific company requirements and address the unique training needs of maritime professionals. With features such as white labeling, custom domains and ready-made themes, the system can be fully branded and adapted to reflect the company’s identity and operational demands.

Accessibility is a key advantage of the new training approach. TalentLMS is fully mobile-responsive, enabling seafarers to access training materials anytime, anywhere, via native apps for iOS and Android devices. This minimises disruptions to onboard operations while ensuring continuous learning and compliance with industry standards. The platform also supports multiple languages, making it suitable for Maryam Shipmanagement’s diverse, international workforce.

Course creation is streamlined through AI-powered tools, drag-and-drop media integration, and support for SCORM, xAPI, and cmi5 formats, allowing for engaging and interactive content. Built-in analytics and reporting features provide real-time insights into learner progress and training effectiveness, supporting ongoing improvement and regulatory compliance.

The launch of this platform marks the latest step in Maryam Shipmanagement’s comprehensive digital strategy, led by Managing Director Maurice Baker and newly appointed Marine & HSEQ Director, Captain Faouzi Fradi. This initiative is supported by the Danaos ERP system, which forms the backbone of the company’s digital infrastructure. It also reflects the evolution of Maryam Shipmanagement’s parent company, TMC Group, from a traditional trading house into a fully integrated maritime services provider. Today, TMC Group operates a fleet of fifteen vessels and manages expanding charter operations across Athens, Connecticut and Geneva.

“Our partnership with TalentLMS isn’t just another nod to digitalisation; it’s a calculated stride into the future of maritime training,” says Mr Baker. “With mobile apps and a responsive interface, seafarers can learn from the bridge, the engine room, or a quiet corner of the mess hall. Multi-language support ensures that no crew member is left behind, no matter their port of origin.”
